This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected within the SKLS Publisher platform. The platform processes user and manuscript data for the purpose of managing scholarly submission, peer review, editorial decisions, production, publication, and related communication.

Information Collected
The platform may collect and process information necessary to operate the scholarly publishing workflow, including:
- Account information such as name, email address, password, role, and profile details.
- Author information, affiliations, ORCID details, correspondence information, and submission metadata.
- Reviewer information, expertise areas, reviewer invitations, review comments, recommendations, and review status.
- Manuscript files, revision files, supplementary files, proof files, article metadata, and publication records.
- Editorial decisions, decision letters, internal notes, audit logs, system records, and communication history.
- Technical information such as login activity, browser/device information, IP-related logs, and platform security records where applicable.
How Information Is Used
- To create, verify, and manage user accounts.
- To process manuscript submissions, revisions, reviews, editorial decisions, and publication workflows.
- To support editor, reviewer, author, and administrator access according to assigned roles.
- To communicate with authors, reviewers, editors, and administrators about submissions and platform activity.
- To maintain publication records, article archives, issue content, citation metadata, and discoverability features.
- To protect platform security, prevent misuse, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain operational records.
Confidentiality of Manuscripts and Reviews
Manuscripts, reviewer comments, editorial records, unpublished submission materials, internal notes, and decision workflows are treated as confidential. Access is restricted to authorized users according to their role in the editorial process, including authors, assigned reviewers, editors, administrators, and authorized production staff where applicable.
Reviewer identities are handled according to the applicable peer-review model and editorial policy. Reviewer comments intended for authors may be shared anonymously, while confidential comments to editors are used only for editorial decision-making.
Published Information
Once an article is published, selected information may become publicly available. This may include the article title, abstract, author names, affiliations, keywords, article type, journal, issue, publication dates, DOI, citation metadata, PDF file, license statement, and related publication information.
Data Sharing
Information may be shared with authorized platform users as required for the editorial and publication process. Published metadata may also be used for discoverability, citation export, indexing readiness, DOI registration, archiving, and scholarly communication services where applicable.
The platform does not intentionally sell manuscript, reviewer, or user account data.
Data Security
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards should be maintained to protect user data, uploaded files, manuscript records, editorial information, and system records from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for notifying the editorial office if they suspect unauthorized access to their account.
Data Retention
Submission, review, editorial, production, and publication records may be retained as part of the scholarly, administrative, legal, audit, and archival record. Published article metadata and publication records may be retained for long-term discoverability and citation purposes.
Users may contact the editorial office regarding account or data-related inquiries, subject to applicable legal, editorial, publication, and archival requirements.
Cookies and Technical Records
The platform may use session cookies, authentication cookies, security tokens, and technical logs needed for login, account management, form submission, security, and platform operation.
User Responsibilities
- Users should provide accurate account, profile, authorship, reviewer, and manuscript information.
- Users should not share passwords or access credentials with others.
- Authors should avoid uploading confidential third-party material unless they have the right to submit it.
- Reviewers and editors should maintain confidentiality of unpublished manuscripts and review materials.
